| Xbox LIVE free weekend starts now
A new Xbox LIVE free weekend sponsored by A&E starts today at 9:00am PST (12:00pm EST) which means as of this writing, the free weekend has started. All Xbox LIVE free members in the United States can temporarily enjoy the benefits of Gold membership now through March 7th, 9:00 am PST. This is the second such free weekend Microsoft has held since January.
Free members should take advantage of this opportunity to check out the free Crysis 2 multiplayer demo or the Dragon Age II demo.
Some features may still not be available during the free weekend trial period if they require a full Gold membership (one example would be trying to upload files to your file share in Halo: Reach or Halo 3). Perhaps not coincidentally, Amazon just marked down their 12 month Xbox LIVE subscription card to $39.99, a savings of $20.00 off the regular price of Xbox LIVE.
